The tent camp outside the Serbian Parliament was expanded on Wednesday when a large group of people were bussed in, an N1 reporter said.

The row of white tents was set up across the street from the main entrance to parliament as an extension of the tent camp set up in the park in front of the Presidency Building. The initial tent camp was named Cacilend (pronounced Chatzee land) by protesters after regime supporters misspelled the Serbian word for pupil in Cyrillic. The name Caci has become synonymous with hard-core regime supporters.

Earlier this week, a reporter was assaulted by a man who covered his face. The reporter complained to a policeman who told her that the men inside the tents treated the police in the same way.

The N1 reporter was told by opposition Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) MP Vladimir Pajic that the people who were bussed in seemed not to want to be there. “This is false support. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and (President Aleksandar) Vucic are providing support which they have been constantly losing because of the protest and activities of the students,” he said.

Pajic said that his party filed criminal charges over the destruction of the park. “They are slowly taking over the whole area to prevent students, the public and opposition from staging a gathering,” he added.

The crowd in the tent camp shouted abuse at opposition MPs.
