The ProGlas initiative said that pro bono legal assistance is available to protesting students who face pressure, including summons for interviews, misdemeanor and criminal charges, as well as threats and intimidation.

A number of lawyers have contacted ProGlas offering free legal assistance, and the initiative has published contact information for these participating attorneys.

“We stand with the students and fully support their genuine fight for a responsible and just society. Any attack on them is an attack on the future of this country—a future that we must build with clean hands,” the initiative wrote in an an Instagram post.

University and high school students across Serbia have been protesting for weeks to demand accountability, justice and transparency following the November 1 collapse of a concrete canopy at the recently renovated Novi Sad train station that killed 15 people and severely injured two others.
