The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade dismissed the criminal complaint filed by some opposition parties regarding alleged abuse and benefits related to residence registration of voters from the village of Mala Krsna in Belgrade’s Vozdovac municipality on March 5, 2024.

The Prosecutor’s Office said the criminal complaint was dismissed because the Vozdovac police established that no requests were submitted on March 5, 2024 by citizens residing in the territory of the city of Smederevo to register their residence in Vozdovac, and that, on that day, there was no registration of residence of citizens from the Smederevo municipality, specifically the village of Mala Krsna, in the municipality of Vozdovac.

It added that, in the light of this, there is no reasonable suspicion to believe that the reported Vozdovac police station chief has committed the crime of abuse of official position.

The Prosecutor’s Office also said that the N1 TV footage, broadcast as a report on the alleged organized busing of people from Mala Krsna and titled Great Migration of Voters from Mala Krsna to the Vozdovac Municipality, fails to show that anyone offered, gave, promised a reward or gift, or any other benefit to anyone in order to influence voting in favor or against any particular individual or proposal.
