According to the VJT, the Institute of Forensic Medicine submitted an identification report regarding remains found on May 21, 2026. The remains were discovered inside a buried barrel in the municipality of Indjija. DNA testing confirmed that the body belongs to Nesovic, who had been reported missing on May 13, 2026.

The Belgrade Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office said it is currently conducting an extensive investigation into 11 individuals in connection with the aggravated murder of Nesovic, which took place on May 12, 2026, at the “27” restaurant in Belgrade’s Senjak neighborhood, as well as other related crimes.

Background of the “Senjak” case

The victim’s body was recovered from a barrel in the Indjija area on May 21 in the presence of public prosecutors.

Nesovic was allegedly killed at the “27” restaurant in Senjak. The suspected shooter has been identified as Sasa “Boske” Vukovic. It is alleged that the shooting took place in the presence of the now-dismissed Belgrade police chief, Veselin Milic. Milic and three members of his security detail are suspected of participating in tampering with the crime scene and removing evidence.

Eleven people are currently in custody, including the former police chief. Milic is being investigated on suspicion of failure to report a crime and its perpetrator, as well as aiding an offender after the fact, allegedly in an effort to cover up the killing.
