Once the suspects are found, they will be issued detention orders, and then questioned by a public prosecutor within the legal timeframe, said the Prosecutor’s Office on its website.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office said earlier on Wednesday that it had ordered police and the Third Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office to identify and prosecute participants in the attack on a vehicle and its passengers during their attempt to bypass a barricade and on an individual who attempted “to remove an illegally erected barricade” on Tuesday.

An incident took place at the Zemun blockade when a Belgrade-registered vehicle attempted to break through the blockade and knocked down a woman in the process. Traffic police arrived at the scene after an hour and a half.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office (VJT) in Belgrade said Wednesday that public traffic blockades are in violation of the Constitution and laws of Serbia, which is why relevant authorities, primarily members of the Internal Affairs Ministry, are authorized to respond to such unconstitutional and illegal behavior, Tanjug reported.
