Protests were staged in several towns and cities across Serbia on Friday, including a road block on a bridge in Belgrade and a protest march in Nis.

Belgrade University School of Agriculture students blocked the Pupin Bridge for an hour and were joined by high school seniors and members of the general public. That protest included the daily 15 Minutes of Silence in memory of the people killed at the city’s main railway station on November 1.

In the southern city of Nis, students went on a protest March from the main court towards the city assembly where they heard speakers and staged a performance.

In Belgrade, activists of the Bridge Remains initiative preventing the demolition of a historic bridge blocked the street in front of the state TV (RTS), standing in silence for 15 minutes in memory of “the victims of corruption and in solidarity with mass protests by students, teachers and other free citizens of Serbia”.

Elsewhere in the Serbian capital, a roundabout was blocked preventing movement between the old and new parts of the city for 15 minutes by students of the University Visual Arts school. Drivers stood beside their vehicles for the memorial.
