A protest march in support of students took place in Sremska Mitrovica on Friday, a day before Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's announced rally for February 15.
Footage posted on social media showed a large crowd of people gathered in the streets of Sremska Mitrovica.
Protesters at a rally in the city two days ago sent a message to Serbian President Vucic and the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) that they are “not welcome.”
Vucic has announced an SNS rally for February 15, Serbia's Statehood Day, in Sremska Mitrovica. He said the People's Declaration on Vojvodina within Serbia will be adopted at the event.
