The Rebel University initiative organized a protest against the expulsion of foreigners who support the student protests.

A large crowd gathered on central Belgrade’s Republic Square, a traditional gathering place for protests, where speakers warned that critical thought is punishable in Serbia and that anyone could be targeted by the regime.

They said that they will not allow Serbia to become a place of fear and repression and called the authorities to stop persecuting foreign nationals over their political views. They also demanded greater transparency for the security services and respect for the law and constitution.

The crowd blew whistles and should slogans.

The latest expulsions were ordered for Italian pianist David Martel who played at the protest in Nis and Croatian national DR Arien Stojanovic Ivkovic who openly supported the student protests.
