Protests across Serbia, Novi Sad students complete run to Belgrade

Novi Sad students, who began their relay run to Belgrade on Monday, reached the capital in the evening hours.
They were welcomed with fireworks at Branko’s Bridge before arriving at Students’ Square in downtown Belgrade, where fellow students from Belgrade university faculties awaited them. A red carpet was laid out in their honor, and after being decorated with medals, they cut a ceremonial red ribbon. They presented the baton – a copy of the Serbian Constitution – to Belgrade students.
Mokranjac music high school seniors blocked a central Belgrade road because they haven’t got the support of their headmaster and professors. They were joined by seniors from the 3rd, 5th and St Sava grammar schools.
A driver tried to break through a student protesters observing the daily 15 Minutes of Silence in memory of the victims of the Novi Sad Railway Station tragedy. The driver was stopped by the crowd and traffic police officers issued a warning.
Seniors and parents at the 1st Grammar School in Belgrade blocked the street in front of the school for the 15 Minutes of Silence, hours after students found their classrooms locked by the headmaster.
Parents of students at a medical high school in the city of Sabac protested outside the school over pressure on their protesting children. They observed the daily 15 Minutes of Silence and then marched to a square between the medical and arts schools.
High school seniors in the southern city of Pirot organized a 15 Minutes of Silence protest in front of their high school.
