Protests against COVID passes in Serbia

Two protests against the introduction of COVID passes were staged in Belgrade and the southern Serbian city of Nis on Wednesday evening.

A crowd of several hundred gathered in the Serbian capital blocking the crossroads between parliament and the city’s central post office while a smaller crowd of just a few dozen people gathered on the central square in Nis.

The protests were organized through social media networks.

A protester in Nis told N1 that the public should have the right to choose to get inoculated or not and accused the authorities of “hiding the fact that a lot of the people who were vaccinated had died”.

None of the people at the two protests wore masks. They said they would stage another protest on Thursday.
