Protests took place in at least 103 cities, towns, and villages across Serbia last week in response to the November 1 collapse of a concrete canopy at the recently renovated Novi Sad train station, which claimed 15 lives, said the Archive of Public Gatherings, an organization that tracks public events.

Belgrade, Brus, Cacak, Gornji Milanovac, Kikinda, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Novi Sad, Pozarevac, Pozega, Priboj, and Zrenjanin were among the places where at least one such protest was held.

Protests are set to take place in at least four more locations by the end of the week, the Archive said.

The “Serbia, Stop” protest action, organized by the ProGlas initiative and opposition parties, took place for the first time on November 22.

It featured traffic blockades in several cities, with protests held at multiple locations in larger cities and at a single location in smaller towns, said the Archive.
