Pavle Grbovic, leader of the Free Citizens Movement (PSG), expressed hope for a large turnout at Monday’s opposition-organized protest in Belgrade, aimed at showing solidarity with victims of the recent tragedy in Novi Sad and voicing dissatisfaction with the government. Grbovic stated that public pressure forces the authorities to pause or reconsider policies from the past decade. Pročitaj više

Scheduled for 5 pm in front of the Serbian government building, the protest will include speeches by opposition representatives. Grbovic emphasized that final details regarding the protest route and potential actions will be announced collectively by opposition leaders.

“The recent events pushed us to act quickly, making Monday an ideal date for this protest,” Grbovic said, adding that a delay could diminish the impact of the Novi Sad tragedy.

Grbovic also called for accountability, demanding the resignation of Novi Sad Mayor Milan Djuric and Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, as well as criminal charges against those involved in corruption related to the incident. He stressed that the protest aims to highlight systemic issues in Serbia and that many citizens, including former supporters of the ruling SNS party, recognize the failings of the current administration.
