Russians living in Serbia voted overwhelmingly against President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Democratic Society said on Monday. Pročitaj više

It said that the outcome of the vote at the single polling station for the Russian presidential elections in Belgrade was one of the worst defeats the Russian president suffered at the elections. According to official results, a total of 4,726 Russian nationals voted in Belgrade with just 512 or 10.8 percent giving their vote to Putin.

Vladislav Davankov won 3,184 votes or 67 percent.

The Russian Democratic Society said the vote was a protest by Russians living in Serbia. “Thousands of people showed up at the Russian Embassy school in New Belgrade to show that, despite propaganda and election fraud, a huge number of Russians do not support Putin’s dictatorship and aggression,” a press release said, adding that several thousand more did not get to vote even though they were still in line when the polling station was closed. “Those people walked away only after the police were called in,” it said.
