Putin, Macron congratulate Vucic on Statehood Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Serbia’s Statehood Day, February 15.

A press release from Vucic’s office said Putin wrote that “strategic partnership between Serbia and Russia is developing dynamically in spite of international conditions.”

“I am confident that, relying on the centuries-long ties of fraternal friendship and spiritual closeness that connect the Russians and the Serbs, we will be able to continue strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres and carry out promising joint projects,” Putin wrote.

Macron wrote that France is confident in Serbia’s European future and will continue to support the dynamics of Serbia’s path to the European Union (EU) and all the essential reforms that will contribute to it.

“Mr. President, dear Aleksandar, on the occasion of the Republic of Serbia Statehood Day, I would like to send you my heartfelt congratulations and emphasize the importance I attach to strengthening the relations between our two peoples and our two countries,” said Macron in his message.
