N1 TV had record-high viewership in November, ranking top among cable channels and 3rd overall in Serbia, according to TV Beata.
N1 had an average share of 9.14% for the entire month. Only the state TV (RTS) and TV Pink had higher viewership in the SBB network.
Nova S ranked 4th with a share of 9.04%, followed by Prva TV and Sport Klub. National frequency channels Happy and B92 had less than 3%, according to TV Beata.
N1 also had hours of live coverage and special reports on the aftermath of the collapse of a canopy roof at Novi Sad Railway Station which claimed 15 lives. That coverage confirmed the importance of a reliable information source for the public.
A press release quoted N1 program Director Igor Bozic as saying that the November ratings showed that the public sees N1 as its most reliable source of information in crisis situations. “This was a month in which we had the longest uninterrupted breaking news program—more than eight hours — about the tragedy in Novi Sad. We covered all the ensuing events, revealed details about the causes of the accident, and shed light on the political and social crisis that followed. We brought the truth and The audience recognized it, and we are proud of the key role that N1 plays in providing information to the public in Serbia,“ he said.
N1 had a 20% share covering the public commemoration gathering in Novi Sad following the tragedy and the ensuing rioting.
The press release expressed gratitude to the N1 audience who recognized the station as an independent and objective television channel whose editors and journalists strive every day to perform their work in the most professional manner possible.
