Record number of attacks, lawsuit pressures, and control attempts: Where do independent media stand in Serbia?

Media freedom in Serbia is under serious threat in 2025. According to international organizations, more than 30 journalists were physically attacked in just two months—July and August—while 2024 saw a total of 166 incidents targeting journalists and newsrooms.
