Serge Brammertz, Chief Prosecutor of the Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT), is on a two-day visit to Belgrade, organised by Serbia's War Crimes Prosecutor's Office with the support of the UN and the British government, to meet with his regional colleagues, including Serbia's Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac.

The IRMCT is the legal successor of the Hague War Crimes Tribunal for former Yugoslavia.

Brammertz will also talk to Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic and Justice Minister Maja Popovic.

The topics of Brammertz meeting with Serbia's officials will include "cooperation between the Mechanism and Belgrade, Serbia's authorities attitude to war crimes cases; regional judicial cooperation in war crimes proceedings and the implementation of a national strategy for punishing war crimes."
