Retired colonel praises student support for the Serbian military
A retired Serbian army colonel said that the student gathering in support of the armed forces on Saturday is an honorable gesture.
President Aleksandar Vucic told Blic TV earlier that the Power of Unity military parade is a show of strength and a deterrent to any potential aggressor, not for daily political purposes.
Colonel Ljubinko Djurovic, veteran of the 1999 battle of Kosare in the Kosovo war, told the Beta news agency that the students protesting against the regime are a healthy force who thinks about their homeland, the state and their people. “The military as well certainly. By calling for the gathering of support, the students showed that they have the correct and honest view of the military as a pillar of the state,” Djurkovic MP said.
The Students in Blockade said on Thursday that they would stage a peaceful gathering of support for the Serbian Armed Forces on Saturday, September 20 when the authorities are staging a parade in front of the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade.
