The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Ferizaj (Urosevac), in Kosovo's south-east, confirmed to Radio Free Europe (RFE) that the Kosovo authorities were looking for Milan Radoicic, deputy leader of the Serb List, a party supported by Belgrade, as a suspect in the 'Brezovica' case.

„Radoicic is suspected of obstruction in the criminal proceedings and the intimidation of witnesses to prevent them from testifying,“ the prosecutor told RFE.

He fled back to Serbia’s side after being asked to park the car for checking procedure.

The ‘Brezovica case’ goes back to 2016, as a contested ski resort which both Serbia and Kosovo claim to be their asset.

Earlier, media reported Radoicic was wanted under suspicion of being involved in the assassination of Kosovo Serb opposition politicians Oliver Ivanovic on January 16, 2018.

The warrant was withdrawn, but according to Serbia’s state RTS TV, was later reinstated by the Special Prosecution. The United States blacklisted Radoicic.

Kosovo’s Police Inspectorate said it launched a probe into the police officers on duty when Radoicic managed to flee back to Brnjak, a crossing at Serbia’s side. They are suspected of abuse of official position or authority.

„Investigators, in full coordination with the state prosecutor’s office, will continue to investigate other activities to clarify all the circumstances related to this case fully,“ the police statement said.
