Radio Free Europe (RFE) said on Tuesday that the Serbian government is buying back land for the EXPO 2027 at a much higher price than it sold it for.
According to RFE, the Serbian government is paying half a million Euro a hectare for land that it sold to several companies including Al Dahra from the UAE which paid just 4,700 a hectare in 2018. The land was formerly owned by the state-owned PKB farming company.
The total cost of the land needed to build a national football stadium and buildings and facilities for the EXPO 2027 stand at around 12 million Euro, RFE said quoting government data.
