An unnamed State Department spokesperson told Radio Free Europe that Washington has not changed its views on the mutual recognition of Serbia and Kosovo.

RFE quoted a written reply which said that the United States fully support the European Union-mediated Belgrade-Pristina dialogue with mutual recognition as the end result.

Radio Free Europe recalled that the mutual recognition issue became topical again following a message from US State Secretary Anthony Blinken to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic saying that the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo will have to make difficult compromises to normalize their relations.
