RIK chief says summons to be sent for all elections

The head of Serbia’s central election commission said that 11.5 million voter summons will be sent out for the December 17 elections to about 6.5 million voters.

Republic Election Commission (RIK) Chairman Vladimir Dimitrijevic said that the number of summons is higher because some voters are being called to take part in local and provincial elections along with the parliamentary elections.
The RIK said A total of 1,63,190 ballots will be printed for the Belgrade city Assembly elections.
Voters in Serbia receive summons slips informing them where their polling station is. Voting is a right and not an obligation under Serbian law.
