Road block at Belgrade Waterfront

Djordje Miketic said the Bridge Stays (Most Ostaje) initiative discussed the road block with opposition political organizations and added that the initiative and opposition are calling the public to take part in the blockade of the complex which was a major project for the Serbian authorities.

Activists have been trying to stop the demolition of the Savski bridge which connects the new and old parts of the Serbian capital and have clashed with the police over the past few days. The bridge was built by the Nazis in WW 2 and its destruction was prevented at the end of the war by a local school teacher.

Miketic said the road block would be in place as of 5:30 pm for 90 minutes. He added that it would be a peaceful demonstration.
