Srdjan Sajn, the Roma Party leader, said on Wednesday his party would participate in Serbia's early general elections on April 3.

He said the election programme of the Roma Party could be defined as the fight for a dignified Serbia "in which all children are taken care of, and no one lives barefoot, naked and hungry in the streets".

Sajn added that his party would use all democratic means against discrimination, corruption, and poverty. The goal is to enable every individual to realise the right to a dignified life, education, employment, the right to a home while preserving a healthy environment and strengthening the rule of law that cares for every citizen and all peoples.

"We are not against the elite, but against elitism. Roma people have responsibility for Serbia, all its citizens and themselves," Sajn said.
