Ronaldo armband being auctioned for sick child

The team captain’s armband which Portugal’s Christiano Ronaldo tore off during last week’s match with the Serbian national team in Belgrade is being auctioned to help pay for the treatment of a sick child.

Ronaldo tore the armband off in anger after the referee disallowed what would have been the winning goal and the World Cup Qualifier which ended in a 2-2 draw. He walked off the pitch and one of the stadium staff picked up the blue armband with the letter C in white on it. That stadium staffer contacted Sport Klub saying that he wants the armband sold with the money to benefit five-month old Gavrilo Djurdjevic who was diagnozed with SMA type 1 a rare and potentially terminal ailment which can only be cured with medication costing millions of Euro.
