RTS: Kosovo police search houses in Zubin Potok after damage to the water canal
Kosovo police conducted searches early this morning in several Serb villages in the Zubin Potok municipality following last night's explosion and damage to the Ibar-Lepenac canal, RTS reported.
The police confirmed the operation but neither disclosed details nor confirmed any arrests, RTS stated.
Local sources claim that searches are being conducted in households in the villages of Varage, Ugljare, and Zupce, with reports of forced entries into homes.
Special units of the Kosovo police are involved in the operation, blocking certain parts of the villages.
Faruk Mujka, the director of the Ibar Lepenac water management company, announced that field teams had managed overnight to repair the water flow system required for cooling turbines at the Obilic thermal power plants. However, the regulation of water supply to northern municipalities will take more time.
The police stated they have heightened security measures at sensitive locations while continuing their efforts to resolve the case of the explosion and damage to the Ibar-Lepenac canal near the village of Varage.
