After the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that Belgrade does not recognize the final verdict against President of Bosnia's entity Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, the president of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, Milos Vucevic, accused the opposition of working on the orders of extremists from the region.

Namely, Vucevic assessed that the opposition, "Serbian blockaders", "reborn Serbian prosecutors" and "self-proclaimed intellectuals" are carrying out the orders of extremists in the region, as well as that they "don't care about the Serb people west of the Drina and the Danube rivers."

Vucevic also said that the statements by the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, indicated that he is a "malicious extremist", and that these alleged extremists from the region "do not want anything good for the Serb people."

"They insult our compatriots, they would take away their rights, they stand with their enemies on the same front against President Vucic. Everything that we from the SNS have been warning about in recent months - turns out to be true. This is a battle for the state and Serbian independence. Those who don't understand this must wake up before it's too late," said Vucevic on the X social network.

In this way, Vucevic put the judgment against Dodik in the context of alleged attacks on President Vucic, linking it to the months-long protests in Serbia and the arrest of high-ranking officials due to corruption in the railway modernization project to the border with Hungary.

Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut said last night that Dodik's verdict was directed "not only against one man, but against the institutions of the Republika Srpska and the entire Serb people."

BIRN journalist Semir Mujkić told N1 that it was expected that Vucic would defend Dodik and not recognize the verdict by which he was sentenced to a year in prison and a six-year ban on holding political office, for disobeying the decisions of the international community's high representative in Bosnia.

Vucic does not recognize a single verdict related to BiH and wants to create a different reality, Mujkic deems, assessing that ythe Saturday address by the President of Serbia - saying that he would provide shelter to Dodik and mentioning that there could be destabilization and even inter-ethnic conflicts - represents a direct interference in the sovereignty of BiH.
