RZS: Serbia’s industrial production in May up by 8.7 per cent

The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in May 2022 increased by 8.7% relative to May 2021, said the Serbian Statistics Office (RZS).

Relative to the 2021 average, it increased by 2.1% and in the period January – May 2022, relative to the same period 2021, it increased by 3.3%.

Observed by sections, in May 2022 compared with May 2021, industrial production recorded growth of 28.1% in mining and quarrying, of 11.2% in the section of manufacturing and a fall of 12.5% in the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

Industrial production volume in May 2022, compared to May 2021, recorded growth in 21 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 73%, and a fall in eight divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 27%.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for May 2022, compared to April 2022, indicates 1.7% fall of the overall industrial production and 2.2% fall of manufacturing.
