The Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) US General Christopher Cavoli said that KFOR would get more personnel and heavier equipment.

Cavoli told a posture hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee that a complete review of operational plans had been done for KFOR. “It is revealed that we need more forces and we need heavier forces. We are in the process of sourcing that now,” he said and added that allied nations have been generous.

“We will put heavier equipment on the ground as well as more people,” Cavoli said.

The general said that it is important to recognize that there are other things going on in Europe that are not good for US national interests and are not unrelated to the war in Ukraine. Cavoli said that the reserve forces relationship between the EU mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina and KFOR is being untied. “We can no longer afford to share the strategic reserve force there,” he said.
