Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) Chief of Staff General Milan Mojsilovic said there has been no raising of SAF combat readiness but only increased activities in the Ground Safety Zone. He added that there are 4,500 SAF troops in the Zone and rebutted the information that Milan Radoicic underwent training at the Pasuljanske Livade SAF training ground.

“I wish to inform you that, in line with the orders of the Supreme Commander, there was no raising of full combat readiness, but only increased presence and engagement of units in the ground safety zone and in the administrative line catchment area. After the security crisis broke out, the Serbian Armed Forces increased their presence in the Ground Safety Zone. Already on September 25, there were 8,350 soldiers engaged, not only to secure the administrative line in the Ground Safety zone, but also in the formations of units deployed in the vicinity of the administrative line. From a military point of view, I believe that all comments on the number of SAF troops are completely unnecessary,” said Mojsilovic.

He recalled that there were similar security crises in December 2022 and May 2023.

“On the orders of the Supreme Commander and Serbian President, in these two cases the Serbian Armed forces raised their combat readiness to the highest level and, in both cases, 14,000 troops were engaged. Nobody seemed to mind,” he said.
Commenting on Pristia’s accusations against Milan Radoicic, the Kosovo Serb politician and businessman who has accepted responsibility for the recent events in Banjska, Mojsilovi said: “Milan Radoicic did not participate in the training at the Pasuljanske Livade training range, he did not fire a single bullet, a single grenade, he did not attend those activities. I repeat, he did not take part in or attend the training. He was invited to train a few times, but he did not respond. As for what Radoicic does on his private property, that is of no concern to the Serbian Armed Forces.”
