The SBB company has responded to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic after he sided with private TV stations Prva and B92, and later said he had the right to say what he watched or what club he supported. Vucic also denied claims that he was trying to destroy the SBB company.

“The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic justified himself by saying that he recommended SBB users to switch to the services of Supernova, a Telekom Srbija's company, as a citizen and not as the holder of the highest state office, and that he has the right to do so. Citizen Aleksandar Vucic could, when he is already speaking to a television with the national frequency, in the period scheduled for the President of Serbia, to be thoroughly informed about the problem that arose solely due to the unrealistic request of the owners of TV Prva and B92 to continue cooperation,” the SBB said in response to Vucic.

The company noted that Vucic “apparently did not know that SBB was asked for 38 million euro per year for something that we were paying 50,000 euros for,” which was maybe why he said that “SBB will not accept an offer that is almost for nothing.”

“If 38 million euros is 'almost for nothing' for the citizen Vucic, we have to point out that it is not an offer that any serious global company would even consider,” said SBB in a press release.

The company added that “what should worry citizen Vucic is that SBB, as one of the largest investors with 2,000 employees, which only last year paid 40 million euros in taxes to the Serbian budget, does not have equal business conditions in the country of which Vucic acts as the president.”

“If the citizen Vucic was not informed about the whole case, we would like to inform him that just yesterday we accepted the offer of the owners and management of TV Prva and B92 to distribute them at the price that they publicly announced that they would accept, which is a price lower than the one that we pay to TV Pink. We believe that this information will please the president, but also the citizen Vucic, because if businessman Srdjan Milovanovic fulfills his public promise, the distribution of two channels with a national frequency will continue unhindered and free of charge, as we do not pay Pink a single dinar for television with a national frequency,” said SBB.

“Since the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, justified himself that as the citizen Vucic he has the right to say what he watches and that he 'does nothing' against the company SBB, it is clear then that the citizens of Serbia did not then listen to President Vucic's recommendation to switch to Telekom's Supernova but that was the citizen Vucic who regularly appears in the media as an influencer of Telekom, happily praising their moves,” the company added.
