The lead seal of Grand Prince Stefan Nemanja, the progenitor of the Nemanjic Dynasty, has been purchased for the Historical Museum of Serbia, said this institution.

The seal that dates back to the second half of 12th century AD was purchased from the San Marino Artemide Aste auction house.

Once the seal is brought to Serbia, the Historical Museum of Serbia will hold a media conference to present this important cultural and historical item and inform the public about the details of its purchase.

This is one of the three preserved seals of this medieval Serbian ruler, which is returning to Serbia after more than nine centuries.
