Selakovic: Serbia needs clear laws

Speaking on Radio Belgrade, Selakovic said the Education and Culture ministries had faced problems for decades because previous governments failed to address their underlying causes systematically.

He said adopting a law on theaters would establish clear rules and standards for theaters across Serbia, adding that theaters currently operate under the Law on Culture and the Labor Law.

Selakovic also said public funds, stages and cultural institutions must not be misused for day-to-day political purposes, while praising artists who had maintained their professional and artistic integrity.
