Senior Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) official Stanislava Pak told N1 on Thursday that she was quitting the party and called the public not to attend the rally in Belgrade on Friday.

Pak, a member of the SNS top party body and former advisor to former President and SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic, said that there was never more pressure than now.

“I won’t be at the gathering on Friday. The public should be encouraged not to go to the gathering because it will only deepen the violence and conflicts in society. I am leaving the SNS and I expect I won’t be on the main board as of Saturday,” Pak said.

She recalled organizing party gatherings in earlier years. “At the start there was no pressure and the atmosphere was fantastic. We believed in the energy of the leadership and that freedom was coming to society. … I told everything I had to say to (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic, I did not go to the media,” she said.

Pak said she does not see why the SNS rally is necessary.

According to her, every decision is taken by one man. “He edits all the media from headlines to show order and news report order that is why everything is the way it is,” she said.
