Kosovo Minister for Communities and Returns and Serb List leader Goran Rakic and heads of the northern Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok municipalities discussed the security situation in North Kosovo with KFOR commander Ferenc Kajari and US Camp Bondsteel Commander Christopher Samulski, KiM radio reported.

The meeting participants agreed that the security situation in this area was still unstable, while municipal heads and Rakic informed the NATO heads in Kosovo about the construction of Kosovo police bases in the Zubin Potok and Leposavic municipalities, said a press release issued by the Ministry for Communities and Returns.

“We will not allow any provocations, either by the Kosovo special units or by the Kosovo security force, because their every unilateral action threatens peace and stability,” said the press release.

They said this was a case of illegal construction in which Kosovo police special units usurped private and municipal property in the Zubin Potok and Leposavic municipalities.

Kosovo Internal Affairs Minister Xhelal Svecla recently confirmed that there are three new Kosovo police bases in North Kosovo, and that one more is under construction, noted KiM radio.
