A Kosovo police unit tasked with investigating war crimes in Kosovo arrested a Serb (Z.A.) suspected of committing a war crime against the civilian population in Kamenica, while, in his first reaction, Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla said that crimes committed during the war in Kosovo are neither forgotten nor forgiven.

Svecla wrote on Facebook that when it comes to inhumane acts against innocent people, justice is inevitable, RTK2 reported.

The Serb man is charged with beating and mistreating innocent Albanian civilians in March 1999 in his capacity as a police officer, and with participating in the deportation and forced displacement of the residents of Kamenica, in cooperation with Serbian paramilitary structures.

“Serbia committed genocide in Kosovo and that is a well-known fact,” Svecla said.
