Serbia has donated electrical power equipment to Ukraine to help rebuild the country's war-ravaged infrastructure.

The equipment is first shipped to neighboring Romania by trucks through the European Union (EU) Civil Protection Mechanism, from where it will be transferred to Kiev along with all other aid provided by European countries.

According to the information from Brussels, 17 million people in Ukraine require humanitarian assistance, while Serbia is the only Western Balkans country that has an energy system compatible with that of Ukraine.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said Serbia will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine to the extent possible.
