Serbia Election Commission Chair: Record number of observers in Sunday election

He told RTS that the handover of election material between the coordinator and the REC through the Municipal Election Commissions to the polling boards has been done and that polling stations are now being arranged.

He said that the voter list was updated and that at last night's session, the RIK established the final number of 6,502,307 eligible voters.

Dimitrijevic said some voters expressed a desire to vote elsewhere, for example students, and some had been registered at that a previous address before, but that certainly no one was registered on the voter list twice.

"These elections will be observed by a record number of observers, 5,218 observers from nine domestic organizations, and 23 foreign countries will also have the opportunity to observe the elections," the RIK Chairman said.
