Serbia, Gabon PMs meet DefMins sign agreement
Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said after Monday’s meeting with his Gabon counterpart Raymond Ndondg Sima that the African country would not vote to adopt the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly, the Serbian state TV (RTS) said.
The Serbian authorities have been lobbying against the resolution which would declare a global day of remembrance for the Srebrenica genocide, claiming that it is directed against the Serbian nation and would lay the blame for the war crime on all Serbs. President Aleksandar Vucic will attend the UN GA session that is due to debate the resolution.
Vucevic told a news conference that he was informed by Ndong Sima that Gabon would not vote for the resolution. He recalled that Gabon withdrew its recognition of Kosovo.
Ndong Sima told reporters that Gabon is consistent in its position and wanted to maintain its friendship with Serbia.
Defense Ministers Bratislav Gasic and Brigitte Onganoa signed an agreement on defense cooperation. The two delegations also signed an agreement on sports cooperation.
