Serbia continued aligning its foreign policy with that of the European Union by introducing visas for Cubans, a notice on the Foreign Ministry web site said on Tuesday.

Holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports are now required to get visas before entering the country, it said. According to the press release, Cubans entering Serbia will have to provide a notarized letter of invitation or proof of accommodation reservation, proof of possession of 50 Euro per day in the country, proof of health coverage and a return ticket.

Cubans have been coming to Serbia over the past two years in search of employment with the EU voicing concern that the visa free regime could increase refugee numbers and jeopardize Serbia’s visa-free regime with the EU. European airlines have stopped selling tickets to Cuba in Serbia.
