Serbia, Japan sign documents to improve cooperation

Serbian and Japanese officials signed 3 bilateral documents which are expected to help improve cooperation between the two countries, the Serbian government said in a press release.

It said that the documents include a Joint Statement on an agreement in principle on investment promotion and protection which was signed by Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarević and Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Akira Imamura. The press release said that the document “sends a clear signal to the existing and potential investors about the security and prospects of investing in Serbia”.

A memorandum of cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation and Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology was also signed as was a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in advanced ICT technologies between the Serbian government’s Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment and the japanese company NTT DATA.

The documents were signed as part of President Aleksandar Vucic’s working visit to Japan, the press release said.
