An international anti-speeding law enforcement operation will be carried out from April 17 to 23 in 30 European countries that are members of the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL), said the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).

TThe Ministry’s Traffic Police will use all available devices for speed measurement - hand-held radar guns, radars in video-surveillance systems and speedometers in interceptor vehicles, said the Ministry press release. It added that the average speed of vehicles on motorways will also be measured, as well as the speed in pedestrian crossing zones in order to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

As part of this activity, on Friday, April 21, the so-called Speed Marathon will be conducted across Europe when speed on all major road routes will be measured for 24 consecutive hours, said the Ministry.
