Serbia records 23 monkeypox cases

A total of 23 monkeypox cases were registered in Serbia in the period from June 17 to August 5, according to the Public Health Institute of Serbia 'Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut'.

The authorities said that the infected persons include men aged 22 to 44.

A total of 20 cases were registered in Belgrade, and three in the Vojvodina region.

According to the information by competent institutions, all those infected have a typical clinical image with the development of measles, fever and other signs of infection.

Isolation in hospital conditions was requested for three patients, while the rest were treated at home, the institute said.
