There are approximately 3,000 customers–producers (prosumers) listed in the Serbian Electric Power Distribution Company’s Register of customers–producers with a total installed capacity of close to 48 MW.

This means that, in one year, from April 2023 to April this year, the prosumers’ total capacity increased almost fourfold, and they also include churches, kindergartens and schools, said the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia (RES Serbia).

The majority of prosumers are households, 2,128, with a total installed capacity of production facilities of 17.3 MW. The fewest prosumers are in the category of residential communities, as only three buildings, one each in Subotica, Nis, and Pancevo opted for this form of electricity production, with a total installed capacity of solar power plants of 69.5 kW.

In second place in terms of number but in first place in terms of installed capacity are prosumers in the category of ‘other buyers-producers,’ 753 of them, of which 705 are legal entities and 48 are individuals, with an installed capacity of 30.5 MW, said the RES.

The ‘other buyers-producers’ category includes 10 churches, nine schools and five kindergartens.

State institutions make up only two percent of registered prosumers.
