The head of Serbia’s delegation in the Council of Europe (CoE) Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) said on Monday that Belgrade submitted 10 amendments to the recommendation to make Kosovo a CoE member.

Biljana Pantic Pilja told the Kosovo Online portal that the amendments are an attempt to soften the opinion of PACE rapporteur Dora Bakoyannis whose report to the CoE Committee of Ministers led to a recommendation for Kosovo’s accession to CoE. The recommendation will be debated on Tuesday at the CoE headquarters in Strasbourg.

The portal said that the amendments call PACE to postpone the decision on Kosovo’s membership until the UN Security Council „determines or approves the status of Kosovo and Metohija“ and setting the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) as a condition for membership and not a post-accession obligation.
