
The Minister for Economy and Entrepreneurship of Bosnia’s Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Vojin Mitrovic, said Tuesday in the city of Banja Luka that Serbia has to date invested over 1.1 billion euros in RS.
Following his meeting with Serbian Economy Minister Adrijana Mesarovic, Mitrovic said Serbia is Republika Srpska’s largest foreign trade partner and that “Serb people on both sides of the Drina River have excellent and fraternal relations.”
“We are one people and we want to help each other in addressing current issues and improving out countries’ economic development,” he said.
Mitrovic added that this meeting also represents a tangible effort to implement the provisions of the Agreement on Special Parallel Relations, as defined at the All-Serb Assembly in Belgrade.
Minister Mesarovic said Serbia aims to strengthen economic cooperation in all areas to support the development of investment activities in both countries, adding there is significant potential for further cooperation, contributing to economic integration and the opening of production opportunities in both countries.
Mesarovic also met Tuesday with RS President Milorad Dodik.
A Serbian economic delegation, comprising representatives from 36 companies, is visiting Banja Luka on Tuesday and is due to visit Wednesday the municipality of Drvar in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the majority of residents are Serbian returnees.
