Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said Wednesday that the government has decided to grant the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe 100,000 US dollars as aid for the rehabilitation of the floods that hit the country in December 2021, a government press release said.

Brnabic told a press conference after her meeting with Sao Tome and Principe Prime Minister Jorge Lopes Bom Jesus that Serbia cooperates with this country in the field of tourism and education.

Serbia is interested in increasing the number of students from Sao Tome and Principe, said Brnabic, adding that there are five of them currently studying in Serbia.

The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe for being one of the first countries to withdraw recognition of the independence of „Kosovo“ in 2013, the press release said.

Prime Minister Jorge Lopes Bom Jesus said he hopes cooperation between the two countries will improve, above all in agriculture.

He added that his country is interested in the import of especially agricultural products, as well as in the export of cocoa, vanilla and coffee to Serbia and that he also sees the future development of relations in tourism, given that his country is an island with great tourism potential.
