Serbia wins third 3x3 European basketball championship title

The final match of the 7^th FIBA Europe Cup tournament was played in central Paris under the Eiffel tower with a large crowd of Serbia fans cheering on the Orlovi (Eagles) national team, Sport Klub reported. Poland won the Bronze beating Russia 19-13.

The Serbian three man team lost to Ukraine and beat Belgium in the first round, went on to beat France in the quarterfinals and Russia in the semi-finals, scoring four wins and one loss.

According to FIBA rules, the players taking part in the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup do not create the team themselves, but instead are selected by their national federations to represent their countries. Serbia’s basketball association chose Dejan Majstorovic, Miroslav Pasajlic, Aleksandar Ratkov and Mihailo Vasic.
