Serbian Army recruiting soldiers for tank, mechanized, and unmanned platform units

Serbian citizens up to 30 years of age may apply to serve in the Army.

The Serbian Defense Ministry said candidates can apply until November 15, “taking the opportunity to secure a stable and well-paid job, with early retirement benefits, excellent military health insurance for themselves and their family members, as well as continuous professional development and career advancement opportunities.”

Available positions include various specialties: drivers and gunners for M-84 and T-72MS tanks, operator-gunners and drivers of infantry fighting vehicles, driver-scouts for unmanned platform platoons.

Both men and women are encouraged to apply, regardless of whether they have completed military service with arms.

Selected candidates will operate modern and upgraded military vehicles – tanks, armored combat vehicles, and unmanned platforms currently in service with the Serbian Armed Forces, the Defense Ministry said.

They will serve exclusively in the units and garrisons for which they have applied, it added.

Candidates can apply for positions in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Army Brigades, and the T-72M Tank Battalion. Selected candidates will be stationed in the following garrisons: Novi Sad, Sremska Mitrovica, Backa Topola, Kraljevo, Novi Pazar, Nis, Kursumlija, and Vranje.

Those who meet the general and specific competition requirements will undergo medical and psychophysical testing, as well as a security clearance process.

Selected candidates will be admitted to professional military service for a fixed period of six months, with the possibility of extending the contract for a period of up to three years, and the option for subsequent contract renewal.
