Athletics champion Mihail Dudas said on Thursday that he resigned as sports director of the Serbian Athletics Association (SAS) due to a lack of transparency, freedom and integrity in the athletic community.
“I devoted myself to the sport for 28 years … I’ve reached the point where I can no longer support the values that SAS stands for and I see no way forward to achieving the set goals. I cannot accept an athletic environment that lacks transparency, freedom and integrity,” he said in an Instagram post adding that this is the only appropriate choice at the moment.
He added that he also resigned a director of the Belgrade Indoor Meet and Serbia Athletic Meet.
Dudas is a decathlete and heptathlete who holds national records in both events.
